macOS Monterey（マックオーエス モントレー）は、Macintosh用のオペレーティングシステムであるmacOSの18番目のメジャーリリース。バージョンナンバーは12。
macOS Big Surの後継として、2021年6月7日のWWDC 2021の基調講演で同年秋にリリース予定と発表され[1]、同年10月25日より配布されている[2]。
名前はカリフォルニア州モントレー郡にあるモントレーという町に由来する。
新機能
- Mac用「ショートカット」Appの追加
- 1つのキーボードとマウスで複数のMacやiPadを同時に操作できる「ユニバーサルコントロール」
- 再設計されたSafariブラウザ
- iOS/iPadOS端末から受信したAirPlayコンテンツの再生に対応
- 画面を共有する機能を含むFaceTimeの強化と、音楽やテレビ番組などのコンテンツを同時に同期して体験できるSharePlay機能の追加
- システム環境設定AppからMacを初期リセットする機能を追加
- 写真、スクリーンショット、クイックルック、Safariでテキストをコピー、ペースト、翻訳、検索できる「Live Text」機能の追加（Apple Siliconを搭載したMacが必要）
- 「集中モード」により、iPhoneとiPadで異なるモードを設定して通知をフィルタリング[4]
