ゲイ・アンセム（英語: gay anthem）、またはLGBTアンセム（英語: LGBT anthem）は、LGBTコミュニティ（特にゲイ男性）において広くの間で好まれている歌を指す言葉。これらの歌詞には奇異の眼差しに立ち向かう希望や、尊厳、連帯、逆境からの反発といった要素が際立っているものが特に多い。

テーマ

それぞれの歌は独立したものであるが、「何がゲイ・アンセムとなるか」という基準は時代により傾向が異なる。書籍『Queer』では全てのゲイ・アンセムではないと断りながら、以下の10点が多くのゲイ・アンセムのメインテーマとなる傾向が高いとしている[1]。

大きな支持を受けたディーヴァ
個別の歌の特徴というよりも、女性のゲイ・アイコンでディーヴァスタイルのポップ・ミュージックの歌手に対して多くのゲイ男性が崇拝的とも言えるような支持をしている。現代におけるこの例にはシェール、マドンナ、マライア・キャリー、ピンク、ビヨンセなどがある。
恋における困難の克服
過去に恋に破れ、そこから立ち直り昔よりも強く成長した姿を描く物語の歌。
「あなたは一人ではない」
コミュニティにおける連帯を喜ぶ歌や、「孤独を感じているのはあなただけではない」と元気づける言葉を表した歌。
心痛の投げ捨て
苦しみはひとまず忘れて楽しくやろう、と気楽さを勧める歌。
苦労をして築いた自己の称賛
抑圧や悪意、自由への恐れといったものの克服や、美しさ、自己の評価が主題の歌。
セクシャリティの解放の称賛
文化的な「恥の概念」を超え、ありのままのセクシャリティを讃える歌。
受容の探求
自分を受け入れてくれるような世界に対する希望やそこに生きる姿を想像する歌。
人生の困難を描いたトーチソング
欺きや悪意、後悔に生きる姿を描いた歌。
全てを打ち破る愛
愛において、克服できない壁を諦めずに乗り越えた物語を描いた歌。
謝らない強さ
他の人の期待や批判に逆らってでも自分の生き方を貫くことをテーマにした歌。
