世界自殺予防デー

世界自殺予防デー（せかいじさつよぼうデー、英: World Suicide Prevention Day）は、世界保健機関 (WHO)が「自殺に対する注意・関心を喚起し、自殺防止のための行動を促進すること」を目的として制定した、国際デーである。9月10日と定められている。

概要

世界自殺予防デーは「9月10日」と定められている。

2003年にWHOと国際自殺予防学会（IASP）が共同で開催した世界自殺防止会議（場所：スウェーデン・ストックホルム）の初日に『自殺に対する注意・関心を喚起し、自殺防止のための行動を促進するのが目的』として制定された。

2013年は、『スティグマ：不名誉のそしりこそが自殺防止の隔たり（英："Stigma: A Major Barrier to Suicide Prevention"）』をテーマに、支援を必要とする人に関する無知や偏見を含むスティグマの払拭と自殺の危機にある人に関する医療と福祉の予算不足が取り上げられた。[1]

日本においては、自殺対策基本法に基づき、毎年9月10日から16日を自殺予防週間と定め、毎年3月は自殺対策強化月間と定めている。
