モデル (独："Das Model"（2009年リマスター以前："Das Modell"）英："The Model") は、クラフトワークの楽曲。1978年に発表され、ラルフ・ヒュッターとカール・バルトスが作曲、エーミール・シュルトが作詞で協力した。アルバム『人間解体』(Die Mensch-Maschine、The Man-Machine)に収録された。

ドイツでは最初に7インチシングル（B面：「ネオン・ライツ」）としてリリースされ、英語版は1981年にリリースされた（B面：「コンピューター・ラヴ」）。イギリスではシングルチャートで36位を記録した。ラジオDJがB面を放送するようになり、EMIは1981年にバンドの意向に反して「"The Model"」をA面として再リリースした。シングルはイギリスで1982年2月に1位を記録し、そこから21週間トップ75を記録した^[4]。

カバーバージョン[編集]

ドイツ語版および英語版の両方が多くのアーティストによってカバーされている。その中にはスネークフィンガー、ヒカシュー、ビッグ・ブラック、ロベールが含まれる^[12]。

ラムシュタインのカバー[編集]

ドイツのバンド、ラムシュタインは1997年にドイツ語版の「Das Model」を「Das Modell」としてカバーした。アルバム未収録のシングルとしてリリースされた。

「Das Modell」は、フランス人映画監督のマチルデ・ボンネフォイ^[13]が話すフランス語のフレーズ「"Mesdames et messieurs, nous avons l'honneur ce soir, de vous presenter la nouvelle collection de Rammstein"（ご列席の皆様、今夜は新しいラムシュタインのコレクションをご紹介できることを光栄に思います）」から始まる。

シングルには『渇望』のレコーディングセッションからの3つのアルバム未収録曲が含まれる。「アルター・マン」の特別バージョンでは、ボボ（クリスチャン・ヘボールド）がコーラスでティル・リンデマンと一緒に歌う。また、Microsoft Windows用のコンピューターゲーム「アッシュズ・トゥ・アッシュズ」も含まれている。

ライブバージョン[編集]

シングル曲であるにもかかわらず、「Das Modell」はファミリー・バリュー・ツアー中の1998年10月23日にミズーリ州セントルイスで一度だけライブ演奏された^[14]。イントロとアウトロが短縮されたため、ライブ演奏で延長されずに短縮された数少ないラムシュタインの曲の1つとなった。2曲目の「Kokain」もコンサートで2、3回演奏された。さらに、フレーク・ローレンツは、ライブで歌うのは難しい歌だと述べた^[15]。
