「嘘は女の子が服を脱がずに楽しめる最上の方法」（うそはおんなのこがふくをぬがずにたのしめるさいじょうのほうほう、原題: Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off）は、アメリカ合衆国のポップ・ロック・バンドであるパニック!アット・ザ・ディスコの楽曲。2005年9月27日にフュエルド・バイ・ラーメンおよびディケイダンス・レコードから発売されたデビュー・スタジオ・アルバム『フィーバーは止まらない』に収録された[4]。翌年にアルバムからの第4弾シングルとして発売された。

タイトルと歌詞[編集]

楽曲のタイトルは、前作「君がやってくれた方がいいのに」と同じく2004年に公開された映画『クローサー』におけるアリス（ナタリー・ポートマン）のセリフ "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off... but it's better if you do" からの引用[5][6]。バンドのマネージャーであるスコット・アーデルベルクによれば、仮タイトルは「Sweat」[7]。

作詞はギタリストのライアン・ロスが手がけており、歌詞はロスの彼女の浮気に由来している[8]。フロントマンのブレンドン・ユーリーは、2015年の『オルタナティヴ・プレス』誌の取材で本作についてブラン・ニューの "Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades" のような楽曲を目指していたことを明かしている[8]。

ミュージック・ビデオ[編集]

「嘘は女の子が服を脱がずに楽しめる最上の方法」のミュージック・ビデオは、2006年9月30日にフュエルド・バイ・ラーメンの公式YouTubeチャンネルで公開された[9]。トラヴィス・コパックが監督を務めた本作のビデオについて、『ビルボード』誌のレベッカ・シラーは「頭に魚が入った水槽を被った人々による悲劇的なラブ・ストーリー」と説明している[10]。

ビデオは女性が街の中を歩くシーンから始まり、そのなかで女性は人だかりができているのを見かける。女性が人込みをかき分けて見たものは、割れた水槽とともに横たわる恋人だった。それを見た女性は倒れてしまう。そこへ駆けつけたメンバー演じる救急隊員が2人を浴槽に入れて救急車に乗せる。救急車が向かった先は海で、2人を海に運び出したところでビデオは終わる[11]。
