リーグ中盤まではFCトゥウェンテとPSVアイントホーフェンが僅差で首位を争っていたが、終盤にアヤックスが大量得点を重ねながら上位に進出。PSVアイントホーフェンを追い越して2位につけたが、勝ち点差を覆す事が出来ずFCトゥウェンテがリーグ初優勝を果たした。
