ジカウィルス (英: Zika virus) はフラビウイルス科に属するRNAウィルスの一種であり、ヤブ蚊や蚊による媒介でヒトにおける感染症を引き起こす。この感染症はアフリカからアジアにかけての赤道付近の限られた緯度の範囲で1950年代から知られており、ジカ熱と呼ばれる発熱がある。2014年に太平洋をまたいでフランス領ポリネシアとイースター島に、また2015年には南米、中米、カリブ諸国へと西に感染が広がり、これがパンデミックと見られている^[1]。症状はデング熱に似ているが、それよりは弱い^[2]。現在有効な薬剤やワクチンはなく、対処としては安静にするのみである^[3]。

ジカウィルスは、フラビウイルス科の他のアルボウィルス (節足動物媒介ウィルス) によって引き起こされる黄熱病や西ナイル熱などとの関連性^[2]、および妊婦の感染による胎児の小頭症 (英: microcephaly)の可能性が指摘されている^[4]^[5]。

厚生労働省およびアメリカ疾病予防管理センター (CDC) は妊娠中の女性に対して、感染が見られる国への渡航に注意を呼びかけている^[6]^[7]^[8]。
