ジェラルド・カルビン"ジェリー"ダグラス（Gerald Calvin "Jerry" Douglas, 1956年5月28日 - ）は、オハイオ州ウォーレン出身の、リゾネーター・ギター 、ラップ・スチールの奏者で、レコーディングプロデューサー。"Flux"というニックネームで呼ばれる。[1]
キャリア[編集]
ダグラスは13のソロ・レコーディングに加え、1600を越えるアルバムで演奏をしている。[2] サイドマンとして、レイ・チャールズ、エリック・クラプトン、フィッシュ、ドリー・パートン、スーザン・アストン、ポール・サイモン、マンフォード&サンズ、ケブ・モ、リッキー・スキャッグス、エルヴィス・コステロ、ジョニー・マティスとの演奏を行った。また、オー・ブラザー!などのサウンドトラックにも参加。彼はザ・ホワイツ、ニュー・サウス、ザ・カントリー・ジェントルメン、ストレングス・イン・ナンバーズ、エルヴィス・コステロの"シュガー・ケーンズ"などの著名なバンドにも在籍した。
ダグラスはSugar Hill Recordsでのレコーディングを含む、数多くのレコーディングをプロデュースしてきた。彼はアリソン・クラウス、デル・マクーリー、マウラ・オコネル、ジェッセ・ウィッチャー、ナッシュビル・ブルーグラス・バンド、ザ・アールズ・オブ・レイセスター、ザ・スティープ・キャニオン・レンジャーズなどのアルバムを監修した。アリ・ベインと共に、BBCの人気番組"トランサトランティック・セッションズ"のミュージック・ディレクターを務めている。
1998年から、ダグラスはアリソン・クラウス&ユニオン・ステーションのメンバーを務め、ツアーに参加し、プラチナアルバムのレコーディングにも参加している。ユニオン・ステーション以外の活動では、自身のバンド"The Jerry Douglas Band"でツアーを行い、自身の作品の幅を広げている。また、ザ・アールズ・オブ・レイセスターでのツアーは、2014年にリリースした"The Earls of Leicester"の成功を継続する目的も含め行っている。
ジェリー・ダグラスは2004年に、ヴィンス・ギルと共に、エリック・クラプトン・クロスロード・ギター・フェスに登場した。
ダグラスは三度目の"United Breaks Guitars"のコンシューマ・プロテスト・ビデオでカメオ製作も行った。
生活[編集]
ダグラスはテネシー州ナッシュビルで、彼の妻ジル(Jill)とともに暮らしている。
受賞[編集]
ダグラスは14度グラミー賞を受賞している。また、the Country Music Associationではミュージシャン・オブ・ザ・イヤーに2002, 2005, 2007年の3度輝いている。
2004年には、the National Endowment for the Artsで、ダグラスはナショナル・ヘリテッジ・フェローを受賞。[3]
ダグラスは2008年、カントリー・ミュージック殿堂博物館に殿堂入りする。
ダグラスはコロラドで開かれた第36回テルライド・ブルーグラス・フェスティバルをもって、同フェスで25年間の連続出場を果たした。
2011年、The Americana Music Associationによってジェリー・ダグラスはライフタイム・アチーブメント・アワードを受賞。[4]
ダグラスは2015年のボナルー音楽芸術祭での演奏中に、テネシー州マンチェスターの街とコーヒー郡の秘密の巻を手に入れた。[5]
