イフェオマ・オニェフル (Ifeoma Onyefulu、1959年 -) は、ナイジェリアの児童文学作家、小説家、写真家である。彼女はアフリカでの村の生活を撮影した絵本でよく知られている[1][2]。

オニェフルは、ナイジェリア南東部に位置するアナンブラ州オニチャで生まれた[1]。彼女はナイジェリアのイボ民族に属し、イギリスに住んでいる。ナイジェリアで育ったが、結婚して1982年にイギリスへ移った。ロンドンのアールズ・コートにある写真学校に入学した。しかしすぐに望んでいた経営コースを諦めたのは、イギリスで写真に縁ができたからだった。彼女は最初、新聞の写真を撮っていた。1986年から1987年にはカリビアン・タイムズ（英語版）の写真記者だった[2]。1991年に彼女は執筆を始めた[3]。彼女には2人の子どもがいて、そのことは執筆に影響していた。子どもたちとの関係や彼らの学校生活は、彼女の文章がより子どもに焦点をあてたものになり、子どもに多く興味を寄せることになった[3]。

受賞[編集]

彼女の最初の著作である『AはアフリカのA』は、児童教育のための最も良い情報本に選ばれた[4]。彼女は2004年の『花嫁が来た！ (Here comes our bride!)』と2007年の『イケンナはナイジェリアへ行く (Ikenna goes to Nigeria)』により、アフリカ児童図書賞を2回受賞している[5]。
