ブッポウソウ亜目（ぶっぽうそうあもく、学名 Coracii）は、鳥類ブッポウソウ目の亜目である。この群を狭義のブッポウソウ目 Coraciiformes とし、残りをカワセミ目に分離することもあった。
系統と分類[編集]
広義のブッポウソウ目は古くから単系統性が疑問視されていた。Feduccia (1977)[2]はブッポウソウ目からカワセミ目を分離し、ブッポウソウ目にはブッポウソウ科・ジブッポウソウ科・オオブッポウソウ科のみを残した。ブッポウソウ目をより広く取り、この群をブッポウソウ亜目 Coracii[3]、あるいはブッポウソウ下目 Coraciides[4][5]とする説もあった。
DNAシーケンス系統により広義のブッポウソウ目はいくつかの目に分割されたが、ブッポウソウ亜目とカワセミ亜目は近縁であり、同じブッポウソウ目に留められた。ただしオオブッポウソウ科は別系統であり、オオブッポウソウ目に分離された。そのためブッポウソウ亜目からも除外され、ブッポウソウ亜目にはブッポウソウ科・ジブッポウソウ科のみが現生では属す[6][1]。現生科に関してはブッポウソウ上科 Coracioidea と同じになる。

その他のブッポウソウ亜目[編集]
ブッポウソウ亜目 Coracii の範囲としては他に、ブッポウソウ目を広義にとった場合の現在のブッポウソウ目+オオブッポウソウ目[3]、ブッポウソウ目+オオブッポウソウ目+ヤツガシラ亜目[7]、あるいはブッポウソウ科+ジブッポウソウ科+ハチクイ科[5]とする説もあった。
