マガモ属（マガモぞく、Anas）は、鳥綱カモ目カモ科の属である。カモ科の中で最も種数が多く、現生種は31種。淡水に生息し、通常は頭と首を水面下に沈めるだけで、水面下に潜らないため、水面採餌ガモと呼ばれる。
分類
[編集]マガモ属の学名であるAnasは、ラテン語でカモを意味する[2][3]。分類学的には1758年に遡ることができ、スウェーデンの博物学者カール・フォン・リンネの『自然の体系』第10版が初出と扱われている[1][4] 。
以前は、この属には現在よりも多くの種が含まれていた。2009年、カモ科のミトコンドリアDNA配列を用いた大規模な分子系統学的研究が発表された。この研究では、先行研究と同様、当時のマガモ属が単系統にならないことが示された.[5]。この研究の結果に基づき、マガモ属を分割するために3つの属が復活し、それぞれが単系統群になるように整理された。内訳としては、ヒドリガモ属に5種、ハシビロガモ属に10種、トモエガモ属に1種が移された[6]。
