チャールズ・メイヤー

チャールズ・メイヤー（Charles S. Maier、1939年2月23日 - ）は、アメリカ合衆国の歴史学者。専門は、ヨーロッパ現代史、政治経済学。

略歴・人物

ニューヨーク生まれ。1967年、ハーバード大学で博士号取得。ハーバード大学講師、デューク大学准教授・教授を経て、現在、ハーバード大学教授。

戦後西側世界において、政治が生産性の向上とそれに伴う経済成長に専心することで、利益の再分配という政治的争点を解消する政策を展開したとする「生産性の政治（Politics of Productivity）」の議論を唱えたことでも知られる。
