Requests for bot approval

Summary of the Bot policy

1. Respect m:Bot policy, WP:B#Additional_guidelines, and relevant policies.
2. Identify your bot on its user page using the {{bot}} template.
3. Provide the following information on the bot's user page and an approval request:
   • Details of the bot's task (or tasks)
   • Whether the bot is manually assisted or runs automatically
   • When it will operates (continuously, intermittently, or at specified intervals), and how frequently
   • The language and/or program that it is running.
4. It is necessary to list all bots which are used on Jawp in Wikipedia:Bot/ステータス.
5. Bots without approval need to comply with a minimum editing interval of 1 minute and a maximum limit of approximately 200 edits per task.
6. Bots with approval should maintain an editing interval of 5 seconds or longer.
   • During the peak hours, try to refrain from running your bot, or please keep editing interval of 20 seconds or longer.
7. When requesting approval of your bot, you should submit an approval request using the blue "Submit your request" button below.
8. After you submit an approval request, please do a test run in 40 to 200 edits.
   • It is necessary to obtain consensus before you start a test run.
   • If your task is cleaning the sandbox and/or fixing double-redirects, you can start a test run without prior consensus.
   • A bureaucrat may approve your tasks for each type of work listed below and add bot flag to your bot if no problem was found.
   • If your bot needs to perform a different type of task than what was previously approved, it is necessary to obtain approval again.
9. The bureaucrat will use {{BotApproved}} to approve the request, or use {{BotDenied}} to deny the request. Your bot will then be listed as an approved bot in Wikipedia:Bot/ステータス.

You need to explain the type of bot works to be performed at an approval request. (Script names of the Pywikibot in parentheses are examples. It is not necessary to use the specified script if the editing result is similar.)

• Type A - Cleaning of sandbox (clean_sandbox.py)
• Type B - Fixing double-redirects (redirect.py)
• Type C - String replacement in a specific article list, including link, category, and template changes (replace.py, category.py, template.py, or AWB)
• Type D - Addition or modification of specific strings to unspecified articles (cosmetic_changes.py or AWB, including correction of specific typos, misspellings or errors)
• Type E - Maintenance of the page protection templates
• Type F - Page moves (movepages.py)
• Type G - Page deletions (delete.py)
• Type H - Automatic blocking accounts using public proxy
• Type I - Regular tasks that do not fall under the above types (automatic updates of data that need to be edited regularly.)

The initial task of PALZ9000 will be to fetch Two-line elements (orbital trajectory information) from the Heavens-Above website and add it to a sub-page of the relevant space station article, so that editors can transclude it to the article. There are no copyright issues for the Heavens-Above website according to the owner, Chris Peat, whom I initially contacted about images for the article about that website, Heavens-Above.

PALZ9000 parses data of the source page HTML with BeautifulSoup then updates wikipedia page using pywikipedia, the data is copied into Template:ISSIB.

  • I think it may be useful, but on jawp nobody knows how to use the data.     • ありがとう comments from the other editors are very important to me. I am very happy to wait. If it helps to give more information, the heavens-above site gets data for each space station on average once per day, at different times with no real schedule. There are 4 space stations, so new information is on average 4 times per day, but the robot only updates at half that rate, every 12 hours, and only the one template so the history is hidden from view.     • Hey thank you for responding, and sorry I take a long time to respond too, I don't check the page as often as I did in the first 9 months or so :D I think that PALZ could have a flag just for being so incredibly boring ! So that people checking the recent changes can filter him out along with the other bots. (Don't worry, I won't increase his edit speed, he has nothing else to do except the ISS). Just seems like he is a boring bot. sometimes I think to remodel his userpage, so he is more acceptable for Japan, but I think nobody looks, so I do other work. well thanks for the 'approval' even if there is no actual official flag to go with it. He will continue doing what he has always been doing.

Addbot の承認取り消し

Addbot (会話 • 投稿記録 • SUL1 • SUL2 • 他P) は頻繁にローカルのボットとして許容される編集間隔（10秒につき1編集）を無視した間隔にて作動されているため、ウィキペディア日本語版におけるローカルボットとしての承認を取り消しました。加えて、1日のブロックを行いました。--Hosiryuhosi（会話） 2013年7月31日 (水) 18:48 (UTC)

• 理由: LTA:ISECHIKA による著作権侵害投稿の版指定削除が50件以上にわたり必要だったため、一時的に自分自身に対して bot フラグを付与し、作業終了後に取り除きました。

  • 起動するたび、User:ArchiverBot/configをインクルードしている議論ページを巡回します。巡回先ページで各発言の署名の日付をしらべ、所定の日数以上のあいだ更新されていないスレッド（節）があれば、そのスレッドを過去ログページにカットアンドペーストします。
  • 日数のしきい値、過去ログページの命名規則などの各種設定項目は、前述のテンプレートの引数として対象ページごとに指定可能です。説明書はUser:ArchiverBot/config/docにあります。
• 運転方法/Operation: 初期は手動で起動。安定動作確認後は1日1回の自動起動の予定。過去ログ化の頻度が多いページがあれば1日2回にするかもしれません。

• ボットフラグ/Has bot flag(s) on: many flags. My SUL bot account has more than 670.000 edits at all - most of them made in German Wikipedia. This archiving task is running almost non-stop since 2007. This bot script is already in use on de.wikipedia (since 2007), de.wiktionary, de.wikisource, commons and wikidata. Here I don't ask for a flag, because it already has one. I just want to start.

コメント 日本語版ウィキペディアでの運用をしていただけるということで、Eukuさん、Whymさん、ありがとうございます。運用に関しては、既にbotフラグが付与されていることですし、特に反対もないようなのでArchiverBotと同様に仮運用という形でよいかとも思います。問題が発生した場合の日本語窓口はWhymさんにお願いしてもよろしいでしょうか。

MediaWiki‐ノート:Common.css、Template‐ノート:Cite_bookで試してみたところ、前者では（設定した通り過去ログ化提案から7日間経過後）正常に過去ログ化が行われました。後者はさきほどいくつかの節に過去ログ化提案のテンプレートを置いたばかりで、待機期間中です。赤の旋律さんのノートでもうまく過去ログ化がされたようです。これまでメッセージなどボット側の修正はEukuさんに迅速に対応いただけています。当面はこちらの申請ページをウォッチしていますので、不具合がありましたらここでお知らせください。もちろん前記のEukuさんのトークページに直接でもかまいません。 --whym（会話） 2014年3月15日 (土) 13:08 (UTC)
