参加はどのように？[編集]

井戸端 (告知)を見てこの活動を知りました。私はスペイン語を若干話せますのでスペイン語で問い合わせなどがあった時などにお手伝いできるかと思いますが、ウィキペディアの運用などについては知識も無く携わることは出来ないと思います。ですので、「大使館補助員」でしたらなれると思います。（最初は大使にとも思ったのですが、ノートの過去ログなどをちらっとみたらずいぶんややこしそうなので引いてしまいました。）私は、どこでどのようにして表明すれば良いでしょうか？ --Hachikou 2005年2月27日 (日) 12:21 (UTC)

お申し出ありがとうございます。それでしたら、補助員という欄を作ってそこに名前をお書きになるというのはどうでしょう？こういう風に。

なお、わからないことがあれば井戸端に取り次ぐことや Chatsubo での質問を翻訳するなど、大使といっても結局取り次ぎ役に終始することが多いので、自分が運営に精通しているということは必ずしも必要ないように思います。井戸端とその国際版のChatsuboの使い方がわかっていれば、ローカルの大使館では十分だと思いますよ。;-)

Wikizine[編集]

Hi, I am w:nl:gebruiker:Walter of the dutch Wikipedia. I am writing you because your are listed as ambassador of your wiki. I have something to say that I think you will find useful and possibly others of your wiki also.

You know it is not easy for the members of a local wiki to be informed about what is going on in the higher levels of the Wikimedia family. This because of the language problem and the high level of fragmentation of places where you can find information.

I am now making a weekly news letter (Wikizine) that attempts to provide the news of the Wikimedia projects. The concept is to list only a very short description of the news an give the relevant url to the subject. I want it to be short, only give the news that is important for all projects. The target audience include the ambassadors. It is for people who are interested in what it going on outside there own wiki. I emphasize on the news that is practical-technical. The information comes form several "news"-pages on several wikis, the mailinglists and IRC. There will be news I can not discover. If you have news found somewhere or from you own wiki please let my know. wikizine AT wikipedia.be

I can only create one version in something that supposed to be English. I count on the readers to inform there local wiki about the news in there own language.

Wikizine is send by use of the mailinglist Announce-l. It is only used for this. So people can subscribe without being swamped by emails like the lists.

スタッフリスト更新の提案[編集]

スタッフリストの更新について2点提案があります。この大使館のリストはときどき利用されているようです（私の talk にもここ経由で訪れる方がいらっしゃいます）。そこで手助けが必要な人のために利便性をあげることを考えました。一つは長らく（例えば1年以上）日本語版ウィキペディアで活動のない人をリストから外すことです。もう一つは talk や contribs にアクセスしやすいようにリンクをつけてはどうかと思います。いかがでしょうか。もしご意見がございませんでしたら来週あたりに変更してみます。電気山羊 2010年10月16日 (土) 16:47 (UTC)

報告 リストを更新しました。日本語版ウィキペディアでの活動履歴が一年以上ないスタッフをリストから外しました。これまでの貢献に感謝申し上げます。また、この除去は手助けを利用している方のための利便性のためであり、再度のご登録を妨げるものではありません。英語表記のものの方が好ましいとは思いましたが、履歴参照のために、ひとまず User5 テンプレートを使用しました。今回リストから外させていただいたのは以下の方々です（順不同）。

Foundation Images Policy[編集]

Hi everyone,
I am Yosri from Malay Wikipedia. Recently I was informed by certain parties that MS Wiki need to delete any images tagged as Non-Commercial under Foundation Licensing policy. After I have done some studies, I realised that Wikipedia Foundations is moving towards allowing commercialises all images, as such they are acting on behalf of commercial company to require all images loaded with tagging Non-Commercial in all Wiki Project to be removed, including those loaded in local Wiki. You are only allowed to licenses your images under "free content", which specifically allows commercial reuse, example GDLF 1.2. Certain images is exempted under a very narrow EDP ("exemption doctrine policy") definition. If you all already aware about this, please ignore this comment. Active Participation in Amendment to the Terms of Use Discussion[編集]

Hi! Some years ago I received a picture about a most-perfect magic square from the Parshvanath Jain temple in Khajuraho. According to magic square#India Magic Squares and Cubes By William Symes Andrews, 1908, Open court publish company the square is more then thousand years old / from the 10th-century. There is an additional text above the square. I hope to receive a translation and/or additional details about this text from contributors on languages from India.

大使館ページの更新の提案[編集]

2点ほど気になる点がありましたので、更新の提案をさせていただきます。

  1. 大使館員リストの更新
  • 以前にリストを更新したのが2010年で、ここ数年活動していないスタッフが散見されます。前回同様に1年以上活動履歴のないスタッフはリストから外してはどうでしょうか。
  • リストのメンテナンスがしやすいよう、更新方法の明文化を提案します。例えば、「1年以上活動履歴のないスタッフはリストから外しノートに記録するorコメントアウトで非表示にする」「前回の更新から1年を目安に更新する」というのはどうでしょうか。
  1. User5テンプレートについて
  • 英語表記で適当なテンプレートが存在しないのでこちらを使用したものと思われますが、日本語が分からない利用者には使いにくいので、冒頭に英語で説明を記載するか、英語表記のテンプレートを作成するかしてはどうでしょうか。

Wiki Loves Pride featured picture drive[編集]

Comments and feedback on the planned international LGBT+ Wiki Loves Pride featured picture drive are welcome on the discussion page, see link.

The competition encourages high quality photographs from Pride events and other LGBT+ cultural related images to be released to Wikimedia Commons. The goal is to see a jump in the numbers of LGBT+ cultural related photographs nominated for Featured Picture status on all Wikimedia projects.

Help is needed to prepare a banner in Japanese! See banner translations.

Looking for people experienced in two languages for a project research[編集]

The research team has started a new project consists into finding matches for section titles. For that project, we are looking for people with a certain proficiency in two of the following wikis:

  • Arabic Wikipedia
  • English Wikipedia
  • Spanish Wikipedia
  • French Wikipedia
  • Japanese Wikipedia
  • Russian Wikipedia

We are particularly looking forward people contributing in Wikipedias using different scripts (ar ↔️ fr, ru ↔️ es, ja ↔️ ar...). Most translations are already done for English.

The goal of that research is to map the different section titles. The final project is to create an algorithm to ease translations, by getting more accurate translations on section titles and a better alignement between conventions (details).

If you can help, please access the document (a Google speadsheet) and read the instructions there. Please also share that information to anyone who can help! :)

Hi, I am involved in outreach to museums in London, and I recently took part in a meeting at en:Waddesdon Manor. The Museum there was wondering why there isn't an article about them in Japanese though there is in most of the other languages spoken by their visitors.
