ニューヨーク州立大学（ニューヨークしゅうりつだいがく、State University of New York; SUNY system）は、アメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク州の州立大学機構である。（SUNY；スーニーと発音する）

私立大学のニューヨーク大学(NYU)、ニューヨーク市立大学(CUNY)等との混同に注意。

概要

州都にあるオールバニー校などの設立は1844年。大学機構の創立は1948年。ニューヨーク州全域で64キャンパス、6,000を超える学科と40万を超える学生を有する全米有数の巨大大学群である。

超総合大学としてのニューヨーク州立大学機構は、オールバニー校やバッファロー校など４つのユニバーシティセンターの他、数多くの４年制大学や大学院、複数の大学病院などを有する。

また州内の各郡には、比較的小規模のコミュニティ・カレッジ（様々な分野の一般教養と専門科目を学び、進学も目的とした州立大の２年制キャンパス。日本でいう短期大学ではない）も充実しており、州内の高校を卒業する学生の多くが、学費や生活費の安い地元のコミュニティ・カレッジにまず入学し、教養課程として幅広い教養･視野の基に自分にふさわしい専門分野を選択し、４年制大学群の各専門課程へトランスファー（編入）する制度が確立されている。
