モーリス・ジー（Maurice Gee、1931年[1] - ）は、ニュージーランドの小説家。ファカタネ（en:Whakatane）生まれ[1]。1978年度ジェイムズ・テイト・ブラック記念賞（en:James Tait Black Memorial Prize）を『プラム』"Plumb"で受賞した。

経歴[編集]

彼はオークランドの郊外、ヘンダーソンで育てられた。この場所のことは、いくつかの彼の作品中に反映されている。[1][2]

オークランド大学文学部を卒業。その後、教師・図書館司書などの職の傍ら主に短編を執筆する。1976年からは専業作家になり、長編を多く書くようになる。

モーリス・ジーは、ニュージーランド合理主義者・人道主義者協会（en:New Zealand Association of Rationalists and Humanists）の名誉準会員である[3]。

彼は既婚で、子供が三人いる。そのうち一人、エミリー・ジー（Emily Gee）も作家である。
