エドウィン・ボーリング

エドウィン・ボーリング（Edwin Garrigues Boring, 1886年10月23日 - 1968年7月1日）はアメリカ合衆国の心理学者。

1920年からクラーク大学教授、のち1924年から1949年の間、ハーバード大学の心理学研究所の所長を務め、1928年にアメリカ心理学会の学長になる。

嫁と義母 (W.E.ヒル)

『嫁と義母』という絵を利用し、視覚による知覚の研究を行い、1930年に漫画家 W.E.ヒル(W.E.Hill)によって書かれたその絵を公表。今日、非常に有名な隠し絵となっている。因みにその隠し絵の元は1888年のドイツのハガキである。日本では『婦人と老婆』と呼ばれる事も多い。
