アルジャーノン・ブラックウッド（Algernon Henry Blackwood、1869年3月14日 - 1951年12月10日 ）は、イギリスのホラー小説作家、ファンタジー作家。アルジャーナンの表記もある。

モンタギュウ・ロウズ・ジェイムズとアーサー・マッケンとともに近代イギリス怪奇小説の三巨匠と称されることがある。

生涯

1869年、イングランド南東部のケント州クレイフォド生まれ。エディンバラ大学医学部中退。

20歳で単身カナダへ移住。牧場やホテルの経営を手がけるもそれぞれ半年で失敗。 以降、金の採掘、石鹸の製造、俳優（画家ギブソンの絵のモデルも務めたことがある）、富豪の秘書、ニューヨーク・タイムズの記者等、職業を転々とした後、30歳でイギリスに帰国する。[1]

1906年、短編集『空家』（The Empty House）で小説家デビュー。

1948年、テレビジョン協会賞受賞。

1949年、文学上の功績によりC.B.E.（Commander of the British Empire）の叙勲を受ける。

1951年、82歳で死去。

魔術結社「黄金の夜明け団」に所属する魔術師でもあり、生涯独身であった。
