メトリック（Metrik）として知られるトム・マンデル（Tom Mundell）は、ロンドン出身のイギリス人電子音楽プロデューサー。2007年からレコードをリリースし、現在は2022年春時点でSpotifyの月間リスナー数65万人を誇る世界トップクラスのドラムンベース・プロデューサー^[1]として知られている。

経歴[編集]

2010–12: 初期[編集]

2010年、Viper RecordingsからデビューEP「The Departure EP」をリリース^[2] 。2011年には「Between Worlds EP」をViper Recordingsからリリース。2012年には「Flightwave EP」をフリーダウンロードでリリース。同年、オーストラリア人シンガーReija Leeのボーカルをフィーチャーした、彼の最も有名な曲の一つである「Freefall」をリリースした。

2012–16: アルバム「Universal Language」[編集]

2012年11月、Hospital Recordsと専属契約を結ぶ。その直後、BBCラジオ1の番組「Essential Mix」に招かれ、Computer Music Magazineの表紙を飾った。2014年のシングル「Want My Love」（featuring Elisabeth Troy）は、彼にとって初のチャートインとなり、UKシングル・チャートで61位^[3] UKダンス・チャートで31位^[4]を獲得した。

デビュー・アルバム「Universal Language」は2014年9月29日にリリースされ、アルバムのセカンド・シングル「Human Again」 (featuring Jan Burton)はUKダンスチャートで13位を記録した。

2016–2018: アルバム「LIFE/THRILLS」[編集]

2016年10月7日、セカンド・アルバム『LIFE/THRILLS』をリリースし、批評家から絶賛され、UKダンスチャートで4位を記録した。

2019–:アルバム「Ex Machina」[編集]

2019年4月には「Hackers」をリリースし、同年9月には「Gravity」をリリースした。

2020年2月、Hospital Recordsから「We Are The Energy」をリリースした。同年6月、3枚目のスタジオアルバム『Ex Machina』を、Grafixをフィーチャーしたシングル「Parallel」とともにリリースした。7月にはShockOneをフィーチャーした新曲「Dying Light」をリリースした^[5]。

Drum&BassArenaアワードでMetrikが2020年のベストプロデューサーに選ばれた^[6]。
