The almanac, gun, and paper most likely represents the expanding of the thought of enlightenment. The gun and paper also represent the enlightenment ideas that occurred. Many of the images show tradition after the enlightenment. The people show the relationships they had between one another. This occurred in the Meiji period. In the first box there is a picture of a painter. Back when this was created people only wrote or painted things of importance. The enlightenment was one of those things. Along with several other small paintings as a whole.
