English: Blood smear from a patient with erythroleukemia (AML-M6) and a history of post-trauma splenectomy. There were approximately 2000 erythroid precursors per 100 leukocytes in the smear. A majority of the erythroid precursors are at the polychromatic and basophilic stages of maturation. The marked normoblastemia may be related to both the leukemia and the asplenic state. (Wright-Giemsa stain)
