English: Panelists discuss deterrence, assurance and stability implications of crises in Ukraine, the South China Sea, and the East China Sea at the sixth annual U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Deterrence Symposium, La Vista, Neb., July 29, 2015. During the two-day symposium, academic, government, military, international experts, representatives and senior leaders from USSTRATCOM explored a broad range of deterrence-related issues. USSTRATCOM is one of nine DoD unified combatant commands and is charged with strategic deterrence; space operations; cyberspace operations; joint electronic warfare; global strike; missile defense; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; combating weapons of mass destruction; and analysis and targeting.
