“Delivered in 1950 to the USAF as P-51D 44-73871. Acquired in 1959 by the RCAF Ontario. In 1959 she was sold to Israel. In 1964 she was acquired by Pioneer Aero Service Burbank, California. September 1970 saw the P-51 sold to Cavalier Aircraft. In the early 90’s the P-51 was converted to a TF-51D. Work was carried out by Pioneer Aircraft. First flight after conversion took place in Chino in the year 1991. The fighter was ferried to Great Britain at the end of 1991. The new owner Doug Arnold made his first flight over Biggin Hill in March 1992. After five years this TF-871 was sold to Mustang Air Inc. and based in Wilmington, Delaware and was baptised “Stephanie”. In 2008 MaxAlpha Aviation GmbH acquired the two-seater and she was shipped to MeierMotors GmbH Eschbach, South Germany. Restoration work began and a German registration applied.”
