Schnepfenthal?]</a> The tram carries advertising for a short-lived East German newspaper Neue-Presse EXPRESS which was founded in 1964 in the Koeln-DUesseldorf area, and is published by M. DuMont Schauberg of Köln. At this time, there was suddenly a huge new market for West German products of every kind. The experiment to produce in Halle an Express newpaper commenced on 22 June 1990,(just over a week before introduction of the D-Mark into the DDR), published by ENP-Verlag GmbH & Co. KG ,(a joing operation of Dumont Schauberg and Verlagsgesellschaft Madsack GmbH & Co KG, of Hannover) with Local editions produced in Erfurt, Magdeburg Leipzig and Gera. In 1992,the Neue-Presse Express mutated into the Mitteldeutscher Express until 31 March 1995 when the plug was pulled on it, leaving the field open to Bild Zeitung and Axel Springer's Hallesche Tageblatt and Mitteldeustsche Zeitung.
