Built for the US Navy with the Bureau No 126882. Transferred to the French Air Force in 1961 as ‘No85’ and then moved on again in 1968 to the Gabonese Air Force. Recovered from Gabon in 1976, it flew to the US via Dublin and Reykjavik in 1977 and after a couple of rebuilds it now flies in a USAF colour scheme carrying a slightly incorrect tail number.
Operated by the Marine Aviation Museum, it seen on display in the hangars of the Lone Star Flight Museum at their previous home in Galveston, Texas, United States.
