ブレブンディモナス属
ブレブンディモナス属(Brevundimonas)は、真正細菌のプロテオバクテリア門アルファプロテオバクテリア綱カウロバクター目カウロバクター科の属の一つである。
概要[編集]
グラム陰性、非発酵性の好気性桿菌である。ブレブンディモナス属菌種は環境に広く偏在しているが、臨床試料から検出されるのはごく稀であるが[4]、検出例が増えている[5]。ブレブンディモナス属の2種、ブレブンディモナス・ベシキュラリス(Brevundimonas vesicularis)とブレブンディモナス・ディミヌタ(Brevundimonas diminuta)はもともとシュードモナス属(Pseudomonas)に分類されていたが、Segerらによってブレブンディモナス属に再分類された[6]。
名称[編集]
Brevundimonasの名称は、「短い」を表すラテン語の形容詞"brevis"、「波」を表すラテン語の女性名詞"unda"、もともとは「単位」を意味し転じて「細菌」を表すラテン語の女性名詞"monas (μονάς)"に由来し、すなわち"Brevundimonas"は「短い波長の鞭毛を持つ細菌」を意味するラテン語女性名詞となる[7]。
ブレブンディモナス属細菌はbrevundimonadと省略されることがある。
火星環境での生存適性[編集]
ブレブンディモナス属細菌は火星をシミュレートした環境条件で高い生存率を示す数少ない細菌の一つである[8]。放射線照射実験において、火星の塵の深さ30cmに配置されたBrevundimonas sp. MV.7 emは個体数が106個まで減少する前に100,000年間宇宙放射線に耐える可能性があることが示された。
