ザ・チェインスモーカーズ（The Chainsmokers）は、アメリカ合衆国の2人組の音楽グループ。音楽プロデューサー兼ボーカリストのドリュー・タガートと音楽プロデューサーのアレックス・ポール、ドラマーのマット・マグワイアからなる[4]。

経歴[編集]

アンドリュー・タガートは1989年にメイン州ポートランドに生まれた[5]。アレックス・ポール は1985年にニューヨーク市に生まれた [6]。ポールはニューヨーク大学に学び、タガートはシラキュース大学に学んだ。

2人は、2012年に、エレクトロニック・ダンス・ミュージック (EDM) のDJデュオとして、ニューヨークの4AM社のアダム・アルパート (Adam Alpert) のマネジメントの下、結成された。2012年中には、インドの女優で歌手でもあるプリヤンカー・チョープラーとの共作でシングル「Erase」を発表し、翌2013年には「The Rookie」を発表した。 日本では、2016年のサマーソニックに出演した。[7] 同年7月にリリースしたCloser（英語版）が全米1位を記録[8]。さらに同曲で第59回グラミー賞Best pop duo/group performance部門にノミネートされ、さらに新人賞となるBest New Artist部門にもノミネートされ、ビルボード・ミュージック・アワードにおいてはトップ・ダンス／エレクトロニック・アーティスト賞とトップ・ダンス／エレクトロニック・ソング賞にノミネートされた[9]。

2017年に自身初となるフルアルバム『Memories...Do Not Open』を発表し、全米1位を記録した。 2018年に毎月シングルをリリースし（5月と6月を除く）、それらのシングルで構成された2枚目のスタジオ・アルバム『Sick Boy』を発表した。
