『ヴィレッジ・ヴォイス』(英語: The Village Voice) は、アメリカ合衆国ニューヨークのグリニッジ・ビレッジに本拠を置くニュース・文化関連の新聞・出版社である。

沿革

ダン・ウルフ、エド・ファンチャー、ジョン・ウィルコック、ノーマン・メイラーによって1955年に設立され[1]。1955年10月26日に創刊号が刊行された[2]。

同紙では、ジョナス・メカス[3]、アンドリュー・サリス[4]、ロバート・クリストガウ[5]、ナット・ヘントフなどが批評を執筆した[6]。

一時期、週間発行部数は250,000部に達した[7]。1981年、1986年、2000年の3度にわたり、ピューリッツァー賞を受賞した[8]。雑誌『ザ・ニューヨーカー』において、同紙は「アメリカのジャーナリズムの歴史において最も成功した事業のひとつ」と評されている[9]。

2015年10月に所有権に変更があり、ヴィレッジ・ヴォイスは親会社であるヴォイス・メディアグループ（Voice Media Group、VMG）との関係を絶った[10]。

2017年9月20日発売号をもって印刷版での発行を停止した[11]。2018年8月31日にオンライン版での発行を停止し、同紙は廃刊となった[12]。

2021年1月にオンライン版で新記事による製作を再開した[13][14]。同年4月に季刊の印刷版での出版も再開した[15]。ヴィレッジ・ヴォイスはその後も過去のアーカイブ記事や現在の事象についての記事を公開している。
