ヨーラ語（よーらご、英: Yola）はインド・ヨーロッパ語族のゲルマン語派、アングロ語群（英語版）に属する消滅した言語である。

概要

アイルランド、ウェックスフォードのフォース男爵領（英語版）とバーギー男爵領（英語版）

ヨーラ語はかつてアイルランド、ウェックスフォードのフォース男爵領（英語版）及びバーギー男爵領（英語版）にてノルマン人によって話されていた。中英語を起源に持ち、その方言とされることがあるため、ヨーラ方言（英: Yola dialect）やフォース・アンド・バーギー方言（英: Forth and Bargy dialect）とも称される。19世紀にヨーラ語はアイルランド英語に取って代わられたものの、現在は言語復活の動きが見られる。

ヨーラ語の多くの単語で、中英語の対応する単語に対して2音節目に強勢が移る変化が顕著に現れる。

大母音推移の影響が部分的且つ散発的であったため、ヨーラ語には中英語の母音がよく保存されている。

動詞

ヨーラ語の動詞には二人称複数形及び三人称複数形の語尾がチョーサー英語^[7]のように"-eth"または"-edh"と変化するものがあった。また、中英語で過去分詞を表す接頭辞"y"がヨーラ語では"ee"として保持されていた。

定冠詞・名詞

ヨーラ語の定冠詞は元々"a"もしくは"ee"であったが、後に"the"に置き換わっている。名詞については"been（bees）"や"tren（trees）"など、現代英語の"child"の複数形"children"のように複数形の語尾が"-en"に変化するものが存在した。
