ブレイクボット（Breakbot、本名: ティボー・ジャン＝マリー・ミッシェル・ベルランド[注釈 1]、1981年10月5日 - ）[1][2]は、フランスの音楽プロデューサー、DJ。2009年5月以降、エド・バンガー・レコードと契約している[3]。

経歴[編集]

ブレイクボットは、コンピュータグラフィックスの大学であるシュパンフォコム（英語版）で学んだ。ブレイクボットがアウリー・アトランとダミアン・フェリーと共に監督した短編映画『Overtime』[4]は、2005年のオタワ国際アニメーションフェスティバルの最優秀卒業制作映画賞と、2006年のシュトゥットガルト国際アニメーション映画祭のヤング・アニメーション・アワードを受賞した。ブレイクボットは広告や映像も担当した。

ブレイクボットは、そのリミックスによって最もよく知られている。ロイクソップ、デジタリズム、クローメオなどのアーティストの曲を加工した作品は最も人気がある[3]。イルファーン (Irfane)が主演しイリーナ・ダケヴァ (Irina Dakeva)が監督した「Baby I'm Yours」のミュージック・ビデオは、フランスで夏のヒット曲となった。このミュージック・ビデオは、2010年10月12日のイギリス・ミュージック・ビデオ・アワードで「ベスト・バジェット・ポップ/ダンス/アーバン・ビデオ」と「ベスト・アニメーション・イン・ア・ビデオ」にノミネートされた。

大衆文化[編集]

2008年にブレイクボットがプナウ（英語版）の「Baby」という曲をリミックスした作品と、ブレイクボットの「Penelope Pitstop」という曲が、レースゲームの『グランツーリスモ5』に採用された。

大衆文化におけるブレイクボットの立ち位置は、「Baby I'm Yours」と、2012年のヒット曲であるブルーノ・マーズの「Treasure（en）」という2曲の類似によって影響を受けている。「Treasure」が「Baby, I'm Yours」と似ていたことから、「Treasure」はブレイクボットとイルファーン・カーン＝アキトを共作者に加えて米国作曲家作詞家出版者協会に再登録された[2][5]。
