パトリシア・ヒル・コリンズ（Patricia Hill Collins, 1948年5月1日 - ）は、人種、階級、ジェンダーを専門とする米国の学者である。メリーランド大学カレッジパーク校の社会学名誉教授であり、シンシナティ大学のアフリカ系アメリカ人研究科の前学科長でもある。また、ASA（米国社会学会）の第100代会長を務め、アフリカ系アメリカ人女性として初めてこの役職に就いた。

コリンズは、主にアフリカ系アメリカ人のコミュニティにおける人種、ジェンダー、社会的不平等をめぐる問題に取り組んでいる。1990年に出版された『Black Feminist Thought』で全米の注目を浴びるようになった。

ASA

1980年代にASA (American Sociology Association, 米国社会学会）のマイノリティ・フェローに選ばれた。1985年から1988年までの2年間はマイノリティ・フェローシップ・プログラムの議長、1989年から1993年まではASAタスクフォースの議長として活躍した。2008年、ASAの第100代会長に就任し、104年の歴史の中で初のアフリカ系アメリカ人女性会長となる。2009年のASA年次総会では、会長講演を行った。コミュニティはダイナミックな政治的構成要素であり、さまざまな矛盾した意図を含みながら、人種、性別、ジェンダーの問題を評価するために使用されることができると主張している。コミュニティがいかに多くの理由で社会的検証に利用できるか、次のように説明している。

• 近所付き合いなどの言葉と互換性があり、集団のアイデンティティの一部としてコミュニティを確立する、「コミュニティの言葉」の共通性
• コミュニティは「柔和」であり、リサーチが容易であること
• コミュニティは多くの異なる意図を持ちうるため、"多様で相反する社会的実践を反映する"
• "コミュニティという構成は、人々を行動に移すことができる強く深い感情を触媒する。"
• "コミュニティという構成は、人々がどのように社会的不平等を組織し、経験するかに中心的な役割を果たす"。

受賞

コリンズは、多くの知的伝統に基づく社会理論家として認められている。人種、階級、ジェンダー、セクシュアリティ、ナショナリズムを、連動する抑圧のシステムとして再認識している。40以上の論文やエッセイは、哲学、歴史学、心理学、そして特に社会学など、幅広い分野で出版されている。
