ドン・ベドー(Don T. Beddoe、1903年7月1日－1991年1月19日)は、アメリカの性格俳優。

生い立ち

1903年、ピッツバーグに生まれる。彼は、歌手の息子だった[1]。学士と修士の学位を受け持ち、シンシナティ大学を卒業。卒業後は、英語の教師をしていた[2]。

舞台俳優

ベドーは、ボストン、フィラデルフィアやペンシルバニア、マサチューセッツで、舞台経験を積みつつ[1]、1929年に、本格的に彼のブロードウェイを創り上げ、スペンサー・トレイシーからスカウトを受けた[3]。

映画俳優

10年にも及ぶ舞台活動を続けつつ、ベドーは映画のわき役として、30年代より、映画俳優の活動を行った。特に30年代後半は、性格俳優としてなり重要な役割を果たすこととなった。第二次世界大戦が始まり、彼はアメリカ陸軍航空隊として出征し活動を一時期停止した。戦後、彼は芸能活動を再開し、性格俳優として活動することとなった。戦後は、三ばか大将のThree Sappy People（英語版）やYou Nazty Spy!（英語版）など映画俳優として、計250もの映画作品に出演した[4]。

テレビ俳優

その後、彼はテレビ俳優となり、ABCのドラマThe Second Hundred Years （英語版）やLife With Father（英語版）など[5]の数十のテレビドラマに出演した。50年代から60年代にかけては、The Alaskans（英語版）や、The Tall Man （英語版）など、ABCやNBⅭなどのウエスタンドラマに数多く出演した。ロジャー・ムーアと共演したこともいくつかあった。1984年に、彼の最後のテレビドラマ出演となるHighway to Heaven（英語版）への出演を行った。

個人的な人生

彼は結婚しており、一人の娘をもうけている[7]。

死去

1991年1月19日、老衰により87歳にて死去。
