スティーヴン・エデルストン・トゥールミン（Stephen Edelston Toulmin、1922年3月25日 - 2009年12月4日）は、イギリス出身の科学哲学者。

生涯

ロンドン生まれ。1942年、ロンドン大学キングス・カレッジ卒業後、ケンブリッジ大学で博士号取得。オックスフォード大学講師、リーズ大学教授、1965年に渡米（69年帰化）、南カリフォルニア大学教授。

議論学

トゥールミンモデルの略型。

トゥールミンは『議論の技法』The Uses of Argumentの中で、論証のパターンの枠組みのもっとも基本的な形として、データ（D: data、事実）、ワラント（W:warrant、論拠）、クレーム（C:conclusion）からなる枠組みを示した。
