Wowza Media Server は Wowza Media Systems が開発している、動画ストリーミングサーバ。RTMP を使い、Adobe Flash Player と通信できるが、クライアント・サーバー間のリモートプロシージャコールにも対応しており、その際、サーバー側は Java で記述する。

- 2007年2月19日 - 1.0.0リリース[1]。RTMP のみ対応しており、Wowza Media Server Pro という商品名だった。
- 2008年5月15日 - 1.5.0リリース[2]。RTSP, RTP, MPEG-TS 対応。コーデックも H.264 や AAC 対応。
- 2009年12月17日 - 2.0.0リリース[3]。Wowza Media Server に名称を変更。HTTP Live Streaming や Microsoft Smooth Streaming に対応。
- 2010年11月9日 - 2.2.0リリース[4]。Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming 対応。
- 2011年10月7日 - 3.0.0リリース[5]。ライブストリームトランスコーダー、ネットワークDVR、DRM 対応。
- 2012年11月13日 - 3.5.0リリース。
