HD 52265は、いっかくじゅう座の方角に約92光年の位置にある6等級のG型主系列星である。太陽より18%重く、約2倍の明るさである。年齢は40億歳である。

2000年、カリフォルニア・カーネギー惑星捜索のチームは周囲を公転する太陽系外惑星を発見した[1]。また、ジェノヴァ系外惑星捜索のチームも独立に発見した[2]。
