国際看護師の日

国際看護師の日（International Nurses Day,IND）は、看護師の社会への貢献を称える目的で毎年5月12日に設定。5月12日はフローレンス・ナイチンゲールの誕生日である。
アメリカ合衆国とカナダでは、毎年5月9 − 15日を「国民看護週間（National Nursing Week）」として祝う。 1945年、リチャード・ニクソン政権時に設置。
