リチャード・パイプス（英語: Richard Pipes, 1923年7月11日 - 2018年5月17日）は、ポーランド出身で、アメリカ合衆国の歴史学者。ハーバード大学名誉教授。専門はロシア近現代史。
人物[編集]
ポーランドのシロンスク県チェシン生まれ。ナチスの迫害を逃れて1940年にアメリカ合衆国に移住し、1943年に帰化。マスキンガム大学を卒業、コーネル大学とハーヴァード大学の大学院で学び、ハーヴァードで歴史学の博士号を取得。1950年から1996年までハーヴァード大学で教鞭を執る。1968年から1973年までは同大学ロシア研究センター所長を務めた。
1970年代、中央情報局（CIA）スタッフによるソ連分析に不満を持っていたジョージ・ブッシュ長官によって設立されたCIA外の専門家からなる分析部隊「チームB」の座長に就任し、従来の分析に比してソ連の持つ国力・脅威を極めて高く見積もった分析を提示したことで評判を呼んだ。レーガン政権期の1981-1982年に国家安全保障会議（NSC）ソ連・東欧部長として対東側政策に関与した。
2018年5月17日、マサチューセッツ州ケンブリッジの養護施設に於いて永眠した[1]。2018年5月17日（94歳没）。
