ブルース・ブエノ・デ・メスキータ

ブルース・ブエノ・デ・メスキータ（Bruce Bueno de Mesquita、1946年11月24日 - ）は、アメリカ合衆国の国際政治学者。アメリカ政治学界を代表する研究者の一人である。

当初比較政治学者として出発したが、国際政治研究に早くから数理・計量手法を取り入れ、多くの成果をあげた。主要な業績に、期待効用理論による戦争研究、民主的平和論の数理的基礎付け、selectorate理論の提唱および関連データセットの構築など。

ニューヨーク市立大学クイーンズ校を卒業後、ミシガン大学で修士号と博士号を取得。ミシガン州立大学助教授、ロチェスター大学准教授・教授を経て、現在、スタンフォード大学フーヴァー研究所フェロー（1986年-）およびニューヨーク大学政治学部教授（2001年-）。

数多くの後進研究者を育てたことでも知られ、ロチェスター時代にジェームズ・モロー、アラスター・スミス、スタンフォード時代にジェームズ・フィアロン、ケネス・シュルツ、ラリー・バーテルズといった錚々たる研究者を指導した。息子のイーサン・ブエノ・デ・メスキータも政治学者である。

なお、彼の名字は「メスキータ」でも「デ・メスキータ」でもなく、「ブエノ・デ・メスキータ」が正しい。口語では、BdMと略称することも多い。
