c/n 17521.
Built as an A-24B for the US Army Air Corps, with the serial 42-54682.
Later transferred to the Mexican Air Force.
By 1963 she was owned by Compania Mexicana Aerophoto, a Mexican survey company, but although civil registered as XB-ZAH she is not believed to have flown after her military service. In 1964, Paul Mantz and Frank Tallman, as Tallmantz Aviation, returned her to the US and put her on display as part of their ‘Movieland of the Air’ collection. Auctioned off in 1968, she ended up being displayed on a pole at the Admiral Nimitz museum, Fredericksburg, TX from 1972 to 1994. She was then ‘saved’ by the Lone Star Flight Museum and completely restored, flying again in July 1997 painted as a US Navy SBD-5. She remains airworthy and is seen on display at the museums previous home of Galveston, Texas, United States.
