「三和音」という用語に関して。 三和音の英訳と思われる(というか三和音の語源と思われる)用語として、three chordとtriadがあります。 英語でthree chord(三和音？)といえば、 「三つのピッチクラスからなる和音」ではなく、和音が三つ、狭義には、 トニックコード、サブドミナントコード、ドミナントコードの三つの和音を指します。 three chordとtriadは、明確に使い分けがなされています。

和訳として、 three chord ⇒ 三和音　が正しいのか triad ⇒　三和音 が正しいのか あるいは、どちらも正しいのか(曖昧さ回避が必要？)

はたまた、外国の音楽用語の和訳とは関係なく、もともと「三和音」という用語があったのか

英語で言うthree chordは日本語では｢主要三和音」と呼ばれます。単に「三和音｣と呼ぶ場合はtriadを指します。本項目は外国語版へのリンク先をご覧になれば判るとおりtriadに関する記述です。｢主要三和音｣に関しては和声#和音の機能で説明されています。ですから、冒頭の定義に対しつけられた要出典テンプレートは意味がありませんので、取り去ってもよろしいでしょうか？--Gruppetto 2009年5月23日 (土) 05:38 (UTC)一部修正--Gruppetto 2009年5月23日 (土) 05:47 (UTC)[返信]

グーグル検索においても、単に｢三和音」で検索した場合はtriadについて説明したページがほとんどで、主要三和音のことを単に｢三和音」と呼んでいるページは少数です。なので、要出典テンプレートは取り外し、いちおう曖昧さ回避を設けておきました。--Gruppetto 2009年5月27日 (水) 06:19 (UTC)[返信]
