生い立ち [編集]
ウィルトシャー州ソールズベリーにて、6人兄弟の末っ子として生まれる。父親は写真家のマーク・ファインズ、母親は小説家のジェニファー・ラッシュ。兄のレイフ・ファインズは俳優、マグナスは作曲者、双子の兄ジェイコブはヴァイオリニスト。姉のソフィーとマーサは映画製作者。
キャリア [編集]
ヤング・ヴィク・ユース・シアターやギルドホール音楽演劇学校で学び、卒業後に様々な舞台に立ち、2シーズンだけロイヤル・シェイクスピア・カンパニーにも参加した。
1996年に『魅せられて』で映画デビュー。1998年公開の『エリザベス』と『恋におちたシェイクスピア』で国際的に知られるようになる。この二作品での演技により、放送映画批評家協会賞や全米映画俳優組合賞などを受賞した。
私生活 [編集]
2009年8月にスイス人モデルのマリア・ドロレス・ディエゲと結婚[1]。2010年3月8日に長女が、2011年に次女が誕生[2][3][4]。
