イプスウィッチ（Ipswich）は、クイーンズランド州南東部、ブレーメル川沿いに位置する地域自治体（LGA）である。

歴史 [編集]
- 1826年、モートン湾地域の植民地調査時、Patrick Logan はブリスベン川を上り、石灰岩などの鉱物をこの地域に発見。
- 1827年、最初の流刑者、教区民生委員が到着、採鉱開始。町は "Limestone" (石灰岩)と名付けられ、当時の中心部主要道路は Limestone Street と名付けられる。
- 1843年、クイーンズランドの植民地、Ipswich と制定される。 改名は、Henry Wade (兵士) が発議し、ジョージ・ギプス (NSW総督) が承認した。 Queensland Government
- 1860年3月2日、自治体であることを宣言。
- 1893年、洪水[1]
- 1904年、自治体に認定される。
- 1974年、ブリスベン洪水 で8.500戸が浸水した。
