アーシュラ・ドロンケ (Ursula Dronke、1920年11月3日 - 2012年3月8日) は、イギリスの中世学者（英語版）。

オックスフォード大学・サマーヴィル・カレッジにて学ぶ。同大学リナカー・カレッジ (Linacre College) において、古ノルド語准教授 (Reader in Old Norse) 及び、古代アイスランド文学並びに古代研究のヴィグフッソン名誉准教授 (Emeritus Vigfusson Reader in Ancient Icelandic Literature and Antiquities) を勤めた[1]。また以前はケンブリッジ大学の近代・中世言語学部 (Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages) で教えていた[2]。

人物[編集]

結婚前の姓名はアーシュラ・ミリアム・ブラウン (Ursula Miriam Brown)。1961年に当時研究員 (fellow) だった中世学者ピーター・ドロンケ (Peter Dronke) と結婚した[3]。ドロンケ夫妻は何度か共同研究を行っており、1997年のケンブリッジ大学・アングロサクソン・北欧・ケルト学部 (Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic) におけるH・M・チャドウィック記念講演 (H.M. Chadwick Memorial Lecture) も共同で行った[4]。

アーシュラ・ドロンケによる『古エッダ』の校訂・翻訳・注釈版（全4冊予定、2010年現在既刊2巻、2011年に3巻刊行予定）はその学術性や着眼点、巧みで詩的な訳文などが高い評価を受けている[5][6]。1980年には北欧研究ヴァイキング協会 (Viking Society for Northern Research) においてドロシア・クック記念講演 (Dorothea Coke Memorial Lecture) を担当し、ガブリエル・ターヴィル＝ピーター記念論文集の共同編集者を務めた。

2012年3月8日、死去[7]。91歳没。
